This week we went on our annual Science excursion (Actually the second for this year) to the Yr F-2 Fascinating Frogs program at Ecolinc in Bacchus Marsh. We had a great time and found out lots of interesting information about frogs and water pollution.

Glen Park visited the Ballarat Art Gallery for Science week and worked with Stephanie Davidson to learn about parasites. We had a lot of fun and learned a lot too. Later in the term we are going to Ecolinc in Bacchus Mash to learn about amphibians and wetlands.

We went to Sovereign Hill for an excursion this term and although a bit chilly at the diggings we had a great time. A big thank you to Alison Middleton for being our guide.

We have resumed our swimming program for 2018. One instructor for every two students means we see lots of improvement from our students by the end of our ten week program. We also checked out some old railway engines (Grade Prep-1 are studying train themed books) waiting for restoration.

On 23rd May we went to see the Wizard of Oz (so to speak) at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne. This was our Arts excursion for 2018. Previously we’ve seen Wicked, Matilda, Mary Poppins and more. We had a great time.

With Autumn almost over and winter right round the corner we are lucky at Glen park to have a beautiful, tranquil rural landscape to enjoy while only being a short distance out of busy Brown Hill. The best of both worlds.

We enjoy hands on science at Glen Park which includes a local environmental education visit to Lake Wendouree, testing solubility and viscosity, studying Australian native animals and their environment and recently studying plants and seeds.
