We have now had two periods of off-site learning this year due to the COVID 19 pandemic. (Hopefully we won’t have anymore.)
At Glen Park we sent home individually developed learning packs (three went home during the last period of distance learning ) which included reading, writing, maths, humanities and science learning plans and resources. All pupil requirements were sent home with these packs. Students were given the opportunity to come back to school for half-days (where they had a separate program to what they had at home) and we also had the opportunity to catch up online using Webex. (Children continued to have MARC Van ‘visits’ via Zoom and LOTE material was also sent home in learning packs from our LOTE teacher.)
We preferred this approach because it mirrored our daily learning experience at school, it also enabled children and parent supervisors to work at their own pace.
We had a visit from our Prep enrolment for 2021 (Petra) who had the school to herself for a while and we also had a new enrolment (Mila) start during this time. Children will all be back by October 9th and hopefully we won’t have any other disruptions to our school year for the rest of term.
Photos below show learning packs ready to be picked up and ready to be packed. Students working on-site and a recent snow day at Glen Park.
