I have heard lots of stories recently about students in some schools spending days in ‘doubled up’ classrooms working on the floor and doing ‘busy work’ because schools don’t replace absent teachers. I have also heard very disturbing stories about students afraid too come to school because of the volatile or aggressive environment in their classroom. There have also been media stories about unchecked bullying occurring in local schools and some parents inquiring about Glen Park have sited that as a reason for contacting me. It is always disturbing to hear these stories. We are certainly lucky at Glen Park that we have a tranquil school environment with children eager to come to school because they know it is a safe and supportive place to learn.
